Don’t Lose Touch With Grassroots – Kufuor Advises NPP

The former President, John Agyekum Kufuor , has advised the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to detach itself from the grassroots since doing so will destroy the democratic tradition of the party.

He challenged them to uphold the tradition and not abandon it.

"With peace, unity, dedication, determination, and committed fellowship, the party and the government's attractiveness will be urgently restored and deepened to sustain the government towards the year 2024," he stated.

Former President Kufuor urged the party headquarters to urgently equip itself with a professional strategic team to ensure its opponents did not outsmart the party in the current battle of wits to break the eight-year political party rule.

He encouraged all party faithful, well-wishers and sympathisers to resolve "unshakably" to uphold and live by the tenets of the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition of constitutionalism, democracy, the rule of law, good governance, respect for human rights, freedom of thought and expression in development and private initiative.

Controversial Ghanaian boxer Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has made an assertion that he has the capabilities of defeating Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury.

Whiles, he believes he’s a better boxer than Deontey Wilder and Tyson Fury, he also believes the experience he’s gotten over the years will help him beat up the two heavyweight boxers.

The former WBO Africa Light Heavyweight champion who has been out of the ring for some years now believes his skill set is intact to defeat the aforementioned boxers in a one-on-one contest.

Gun Battle With Police Leaves Five Robbers Dead; Six Grabbed

The police have been on special anti-robbery intelligence-led operations in the past 48 hours across the country.

The exercises, according to the Ghana Police Service, have led to the arrest of six suspected armed robbers.

In a statement released by the Service on Thursday, January 6, five others were killed in the gun battle.

The operations are continuing in the Northern and Western-North regions, according to the police.

“The full detail will be communicated in due course,” the police said.
